An Independent Review of the iPhone 3GS Smart Phone

With all the talk of iPhone 5 coming out, you might forget that it’s still possible to get older, lower priced models such as the iPhone 3GS smart phone. In fact, now is the perfect time to buy the phone since the AT&T is offering so many promotional prices on them. However, before you make your decision about this or any of the other smart phones it is a good idea to familiarize yourself with the primary features that are there.
Smartphone technology has grown by leaps and bounds in the last few years, making a simple cell phone so much more. The iPhone 3GS Smart Phone is GPS ready, something that is standard in most iPhone’s. Having this GPS unit with you on your phone is an added safety feature, on top of having one in your vehicle. The app that you will need is called the Maps & Compass application – just download it and you are ready to go. Finding North is no problem at all using this app. Using Maps, just find a point of interest you want to visit and it will tell you how to get there. Finding a restaurant is easy: just type in “restaurant” and many will pop up that you can choose from.
The camera contained in the iPhone 3GS smart phone gives you the ability to take great videos and photos. While the 3 megapixel camera has good performance quality, it isn’t quite as impressive as the cameras you will find in later model smart phones but it works fine for regular use. If you’re serious about videography and photography, however, you will want to invest in separate devices for these functions. For casual users, however, the iPhone 3GS works perfectly well for photos and videos and makes it easy to email them or upload them to the web.
A great and simple feature offered by the iPhone 3GS is the opportunity for copying and pasting images and text. Computer users (like all of you) often take this opportunity for granted but it is still considered very new and advanced for smart phones and one of the first to make it available was the iPhone 3GS. You have the ability to copy blocks of text, entire areas of a website and images too. You are then able to paste the things you’ve copied into documents and emails that you want to send. Many of the more pricey smart phones offer these capabilities now but it is hard to find a phone with a copy and paste feature that works as well on other phones that are in the same price range as the iPhone 3GS. Although the iPhone 3GS smartphone has only been around for a few years, it is quite old in high-tech gadget years. Surfing the web, taking and uploading vids and pics, is easy to do with the smartphone. Priced affordably now, the iPhone 3GS smartphone can do many things that you appreciate and use on a daily basis.
